I’ve been busy the last few months. Here’s some of the things I’ve been into as of late…
Books
I am currently reading Designing for the Social Web by Joshua Porter. Designing for the Social Web is a look into the mechanics of online social networking. It centers on the idea that there are certain hurdles that a company must over come in order to bring in users and inevitably grow a thriving online community. Porter refers to this as The Usage Lifecycle. He identifies that there are five stages that a person goes through when learning new software. Those stages are; unaware, interested, first-time user, regular user and passionate user. The book is great for those interested in the mechanics of an online social network. It’s also neat to learn about the ideas behind why we do certain things online.
TV
Right now I’m sorta hooked on J.J. Abram’s new television show FRINGE. It’s a fun show, at times it does seem a little slow but definitely worth taking a chance on.
Music
For some reason I’ve dug up Cross by Justice once again. I wasn’t on a kick before but somehow now I can’t stop listening to it. I can’t really describe it.
Movies
Recently I’ve had the privilege of viewing director Darren Lynn Bousman’s new movie REPO! The Genetic Opera. It’s a rock-opera musical unlike any musical.
