Just finished a neat documetary Starbucking. It’s about a guy who has 1 goal and that is to visit every single Starbucks in the world. He has been on this journey for 8 years prior to 2006 when the documentary was made.
This movie has somewhat inspired me to pursue a pointless endevour and that is to visit every Apple retail store in the world! At the time of this writing there are over 200 stores total across the world. I think it would be a nice and casual goal to pursue over the course of a few years.
Shouldn’t be too difficult. ;)
Objectified is a new film by Gary Hustwit the director of Helvetica. I think I’m more excited about this than Helvetica because design is all around us and this seems to explore the thought process of the designer of our common everyday things.

Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.You can
praise them
disagree with them
quote them
disbelieve them
glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.They invent.
They imagine.
They heal.
They explore.
They create.
They inspire.
They push the human race forward.Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
We make tools for these kinds of peopleWhile some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,
are the ones who do.
Think Different.
